Buried deep in the heart of the Brazilian Amazonian Rainforest, one of the world’s greatest exotic wildernesses, Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge, overlooks the world’s largest freshwater archipelago and is touched by the black waters of the Rio Negro.
Choose between 16 cottages and four bungalows to sleep in for the duration of your Amazonian adventure, each one with unbridled views out onto the rainforest. The rooms are decorated in a gorgeous combination of authentic wooden furniture and huge glass windowpanes so you can make the most of your scenic surroundings. Enjoy a private deck with a hammock, perfect for those afternoons where you just need to kick back and enjoy a sunset Caipirinha.
The lodge boasts a swimming pool with a view of the surrounding landscape and a comfortable living room area for relaxing. The local ladies cook up a treat in the restaurant with a delectable blend of Amazonian flavours and international cuisine based on a menu designed by a European chef.

Community & Culture
Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge carries out the Project of cultural appreciation and support to the D.Pedro II school located in the riverside community of Santo Antônio through contributing to produce for children's meals, improving teacher's living conditions, installation of solar power and a variety of other activities. The Lodge is also a partner of the New School and Community Bathroom in the rural area of the municipality of Novo Airão.
Conservation
Lodge Guides and Staff are trained to never intervene in wildlife during the tours and explanations. The tours offered to Anavilhanas guests strictly respect the environmental rules of Conscious Tourism, generating minimal impact on the places visited and genuine experiences. The hotel has expanded the area of preserved native forest in the surroundings, initially from 45 to 220 hectares. Aiming to extend preservation into advanced spots, Anavilhanas has built a new structure on a 200-hectare area, 50km away from the Lodge.
Footprint
Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge has its own photovoltaic power plant generating 100% of the electricity used in their operation. The regional boats (used in the tours on the Rio Negro) have also solar energy system, providing a reduction in noise and burning fossil fuels. The hotel prioritises electrical appliances that have type A energy efficiency and certification for low energy consumption. Their water heating system is made by solar panels and stored in thermal boilers, avoiding the consumption of gas and reduction the need of electricity. The sewage from Anavilhanas is collected and treated in biological cesspools, with the sludge removed by certified companies and disposed of in sanitary landfills. There is an internal waste separation and differentiated destination process: organic waste for composting; paper, plastic and glass for recycling. Committed to reducing the generation of waste, packaging and plastic items, the hotel has been replacing and adapting supplies and facilities in its operation.
