Overview
Wild camping
Savute Under Canvas can be found in a remote and wild corner of Chobe National Park, by the capriciously flowing waters of the Savute Channel in an area renowned for its elephant-hunting lion prides.
The camp is an entirely off-grid mobile set up with just five canvas tents. Each has a comfortable bed and en suite bathroom with steaming hot water on request for the bucket showers.
The shared guest area comprises open-sided tents for dining, pre-dinner drinks, or simply whiling away the time between game viewing adventures with a good book and a frosted beer or glass of wine. Delicious meals are cooked over coals and shared around a blazing fire.

Community & Culture
&Beyond has worked with non-profit community development partner Africa Foundation since the early 90s with a shared vision to care for land, wildlife and people by empowering the communities that are the custodians of these systems.
In Botswana, their work includes working with remote communities in the Okavango Delta, implementing a support programme that has constructed much-needed boreholes, addressing educational needs and allowing access to &Beyond’s private concession where they can harvest grass and reed materials as an added income resource. They also work with a community outside Maun, building a school and kitchens.
Footprint
Semi-permanent and mobile, Savute Under Canvas has a feather-light
sustainability footprint: no electricity, solar lights, bucket showers,
meals cooked over coals – a truly authentic, impact-friendly safari experience.
