Overview
Exceptional wildlife
Xaranna is nestled deep in the heart of Botswana’s iconic Okavango Delta with sweeping views opening up onto a seasonal lagoon from its own Delta Island, within an exclusive 90,500-hectare concession.
Light, airy and luxurious, the camp’s nine suites combine canvas, soft drapes and bleached timber, each with a romantic outdoor sala, private plunge pool, indoor bathtub and al fresco shower.
An inviting guest sitting area boasts a spacious reading section – perfect for afternoon relaxation, while the elevated dining area extends onto an open-air boma where candlelit dinners are served beneath the stars. On safari, explore the Delta’s diverse ecosystems by 4x4, on foot, water and air alongside expert guides.

Game drives
Game viewing in the Okavango Delta is remote and secluded, with very few vehicles sharing the private concession. Sensitive off-road driving practices allow you to get up close to the area’s exceptional wildlife. Afternoon drives continue after night, allowing for an opportunity to see the many animals that are more active at night, including leopards, serval and lions on the hunt
-
Mokoro canoeing
Glide silently the Okavango’s channels and waterways on a traditional mokoro canoe, a great way to spot birdlife and see wildlife like lechwe, sitatunga, elephant, hippo and crocodile. Game viewing is also offered in motorized boats. (Seasonal)
-
Nature walks
Discover Delta’s natural wonders on foot in the company of an experienced walking safari guide, breathing in the scent of crushed wild grasses, listening to the birdlife and tracking larger game as your senses come alive.
-
Helicopter safaris
Take to the air. With many of the Delta’s very remote areas generally inaccessible, an aerial perspective is one of the best ways to get a true feeling for the Delta’s vast open spaces. Enthusiastic photographers can choose to have the doors removed for unrestricted views of the spectacular panorama below.
Community & Culture
&Beyond has worked with non-profit community development partner Africa Foundation since the early 90s with a shared vision to care for land, wildlife and people by empowering the communities that are the custodians of these systems.
In Botswana, their work includes working with remote communities in the Okavango Delta, implementing a support programme that has constructed much-needed boreholes, addressing educational needs and allowing access to &Beyond’s private concession where they can harvest grass and reed materials as an added income resource. They also work with a community outside Maun, building a school and kitchens.
