Overview
A Tanzanian welcome
On the gently rolling foothills of Mount Meru you’ll find the vibrant town of Arusha. There, on the outskirts, surrounded by one of the country’s largest coffee plantations is Arusha Coffee Lodge.
Designed around the original landowner’s house which dates back to the early 1900s, there are 30 plantation houses each looking out over the lush coffee fields. You’ll find the theme of coffee reflected in the colours and textures throughout the lodge and its cheerful cottages.
Dine at the a la carte restaurant in the main Plantation House, where you’ll also discover an intimate café bistro and a lounge. Each space boasts an open log fire to take the edge off the chilly evening air. The lodge offers plenty of opportunity for relaxation, with an enclosed swimming pool, garden terrace and acres of coffee plantation to discover.

Coffee tour
Head out for a walking tour of the plantation to learn more about how coffee is grown, harvested, dried and eventually turned into the aromatic cuppa you drink every day.

Trader’s Walk
There are five boutique shops and gourmet food places dotted around the grounds of Arusha Coffee Lodge which make up the Trader’s Walk. They showcase some of Tanzania’s finest creativity and ingenuity.

Arusha National Park
With Arusha National park nearby there’s plenty of opportunity to discover the fascinating diversity of the region. Head into the shadowy montane forest where you’ll find blue monkeys as well as colourful turacos and trogons. This is also the only place on the northern safari circuit where you can fairly easily spot the black and white colobus monkey.

Arusha tour
You might want to take the opportunity to head into town se experience more of it sights and sounds. Some of the attractions here include the Museum of Natural History, the Tanzanite Museum, the cultural centre and market.
Community & Culture
Elewana's Land & Life Foundation continues the commitment to educate the next generation of conservationists, to build a passion for wildlife in East Africa’s key conservation areas and to inspire the communities we work with to conserve East Africa’s wildlife for generations to come. The Wildlife Warrior Program currently includes up to 2,200 children across Kenya and Tanzania. Our termly Wildlife Warrior Club activities include trivia, poetry, drama, art and story writing competitions, and all are designed to promote inter-generational knowledge sharing, innovative thinking and proactive wildlife conservation.
Conservation
Protecting the environment and particular vulnerable and endangered wildlife species are high on Elewana’s list of priorities. They have been pioneers in Kenya and Tanzania when iit comes to protection areas that lie outside of the boundaries of nationally protected parks – what they refer to as “parks beyond parks”. As a result they are involved in protecting over 1.36 million acres across both countries.
