Overview
Amongst the Boulders
Perched on a rocky kopje overlooking the Mwagusi River and Ikuka escarpment, Jabali Ridge is a stylish camp in one of Tanzania’s largest national parks, Ruaha National Park.
A landscape of sun-bleached plains, ancient baobabs and hardy shrubs, Ruaha is rich with wildlife and said to be home to one-tenth of the entire world’s wild lion population, with large prides roaming the plains. The savannah boasts a large number of elephants, buffalos, kudu, endangered African wild dogs, and is a bird-watchers paradise with over 570 different species.
Jabali Ridge has been carefully designed to blend into its environment, making use of open spaces and natural materials, even incorporating the existing granite boulders to provide privacy and shade.
With just eight airy suites set on raised decks, the camp feels blissfully exclusive and remote. After a long day in the bush, cool off in the glorious infinity pool, overlooking the vast plains, or head to the spa to experience one of the many signature treatments.

Conservation
Through its mother company, Asilia, Jabali Ridge is a partner of The Ruaha Carnivore Project, established in 2009 to develop effective conservation strategies for large carnivores in Ruaha National Park. This national park is one of the most important places in the world for large carnivores, it supports over 10 percent of the world’s remaining lions, as well as the third-largest population of African wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards and other carnivores.
Footprint
Asilia, which has been carbon neutral since 2009, runs sustainable operations by installing solar power systems and solar water boilers in its camps. Their carbon offsetting includes safari vehicles, their global offices’ electricity usage and even international flights taken by management. They have reduced their plastic waste by 63% over the last four years. Instead of plastic bottles, guests are given personalized stainless-steel bottles. They eliminated single-use plastics in 2018 and even cling film and earbuds are not allowed in camp.
