Boutique beach retreat
On a tranquil stretch of private sands south of Diani Beach, Kinondo Kwetu is an intimate boutique resort that aims to feel like a home from home.
There are 16 breezy rooms split between five cottages and two houses, all in a laidback Swahili style, with rooms to suit couples, groups and families. A swimming pool, Finnish sauna, yoga platform can be found in the heart of the lodge with a bar and dining area where you’ll enjoy organic, locally sourced produce (if you’re not dining on the beach).
Activity seekers will find watersports such as snorkelling and paddleboarding, horse riding and a tennis court. Diving can also be arranged while other local excursions include the Kaya Kinondo sacred forest and the Shimba Hills Reserve.

Community & Culture
The Kinondo Kwetu Trust Fund and its health clinic was founded in 2008 to save lives and improve the quality of life for the people in Kinondo villages, where the average income is among the lowest in Kenya. The clinic has since been awarded ‘best clinic in the district’ and caters to over 100,000 patients yearly, helping to reduce the impacts of jigger parasites, HIV, TB and malaria, while greatly improving mortality rates among mothers and infants by providing an alternative to home births. The lodge also supports a primary school in the village.
