In Matetic's Casona find seven spacious, comfortable guest rooms to choose from, each outfitted with oak furniture, thick damask curtains and gilt-framed oil paintings.
At restaurant Equilibrio, chef Matias Bustos has created a menu that perfectly showcases the estate’s excellent wines. Think fresh giant scallops from the Pacific, estate-made ewe’s cheese and ginger-marinated duck. You’ll dine in the sumptuous dining room.
While away the days beside the pool with stunning views over the valley, take morning strolls through the farmlands, or tour the wine-making operation. Take an enchanting horse ride through the estate, or head out to discover some of the restaurants in Valparaiso.

Tour the vineyards and farm
The historic estancia boasts an avant-garde winery where you can learn all about the principles of biodynamic winemaking and sample the world-class wines the estate is known for, like Syrah, Pinot noir, Sauvignon blanc and Chardonnay.

The estate is ideal for exploring on foot or on horseback. Follow trails through the vineyards and farmlands in the fresh morning air.
Community & Culture
Most of La Casona’s team lives in Lagunillas and other towns in the Rosario Valley. The hotel is involved in a variety of social and educational collaborations in the area. One such project is the Patio de la Alegria or Happy Patio which involved redesigning the outdoor area at Lagunillas Primary School. The aim was to encourage students to enjoy spending more time outdoors. The hotel also works closely with the community to promote local handicrafts through projects like Entre Cerros or Among Hills which focuses on wool work.
Conservation
Matetic constantly monitors the vineyard and promotes the growth of the native flora in biological corridors. The biodiversity allows them to continue our organic and biodynamic practices with the help of natural enemies in the vineyard, helping to maintain the population of harmful pests under control.
Footprint
Organic agriculture is an integrated system of production that foments and improves the health of the ecosystem, particularly the biodiversity, the biological cycles, and the biological activity of the soils. Because of this, neither chemicals nor pesticides are used so that the products are the healthiest possible.
The architecture design at La Casona allows for natural temperature control, and operational movements during harvest time are done using gravity, helping to reduce energy consumption. All biological waste is composted and used as fertilizer. Water from the cellar is recycled in a wetland biological treatment plant so that it can be reused.
