Overview
A KZN icon
Overlooking the famous Umhlanga lighthouse, a short way up the coast from Durban, The Oyster Box has long been one of the region’s most loved hotels.
Completely reimagined by new hotelier owners who first met here in the 1950s, it now boasts 86 rooms ranging up to expansive suites and villas combine charming nostalgia with modern luxuries.
Dining here has always been a highlight. For fine dining head to The Grill Room, whereas more relaxed bites can be enjoyed on the al fresco terrace and Palm Court. For something extra special, ask for the chef’s table experience. The hotel also features two swimming pools, a spa, three drinks venues and direct access to the beach.
