Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Simbambili Game Lodge

Overview

Seamless Sabi safari

Simbambili Game Lodge is located in the North Eastern Sabi Sand Game Reserve, a sophisticated, comfortable spot that blends into stands of knobthorn and jackalberry trees along the meandering Manyeleti River.

It has nine spacious thatched suites, with sprawling decks, private plunge pools and sala beds outside – a wonderful space to relax between safari activities – as well as sumptuous bathrooms and furnishing within. There are two slightly larger suites placed for even more privacy, one with an outdoor shower.

Shared areas include indoor and outdoor lounge spaces including a deck overlooking a popular waterhole and a tranquil spa. Weather permitting, dinners can be enjoyed outside by the fire.

Community & Culture

The philosophy at Thornybush Lodges is ‘Unity is Strength’, with many of their projects are designed to empower people and small businesses by providing them with tools to build a sustainable life. The lodge participates in many community projects including supporting local schools and programs.

Wild Shots Outreach aims to engage young people from disadvantaged communities in wildlife and wild places through photography. It teaches new skills, provides an introduction to the natural world and raises the aspirations of these learners – the conservationists of tomorrow.

Hlokomela is a well-run project close to Hoedspruit, which aims to take care of farm workers with HIV/Aids- and TB-related illnesses. They also provide daycare to the children of farm workers, while their parents are being treated.
