Overview
Refined bushveld retreat
In the wild Klaserie Game Reserve, 60,000 hectares of private land sharing an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, Camp George is a small luxury safari lodge designed for couples, families and friends.
There are just eight luxury suites, each with a private deck, unique wall mural, air-conditioning, deep soaking tub and both indoor and outdoor showers.
Between wildlife-filled drives, relax in the gardens under baobab and fever trees, watching as wildlife gathers at the waterhole. The Klaserie is known for a magnificent range of animals including leopard, elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, hippo, wild dog and sightings of the rare Sharpe's Grysbok.

-
Game drives
The lodge offers 'Big Five' game drives in the early morning and evening for exceptional game viewing when the animals are most active. Nocturnal animals, including big cats, are regular sightings at night. Drives are conducted by experienced field guides and local Shangaan trackers in open 4x4 vehicles, with excellent photographic opportunities.
-
Bush walks
A bush walk is a completely different way to experience the African wild. You gain a far greater sense of the landscape and how everything is interconnected, from the smaller things you'd miss on a drive with the chance of an encounter with one of the larger animals.
-
Campfire dining
Several times a week, dinner in the camps is a more hearty, campfire style meal served under the stars in a ‘boma’, a circular enclosure originally made from branches. The cosy, lantern-lit ambience recalls the early days of safari pioneers.
Community & Culture
Simbavati is passionate about their local community with a long-term goal to see the community around us thrive both economically and socially. For this reason, they have partnered with Eco Children, a local non-profit organisation focusing on improving education in the area.
Eco Children focuses on hands-on environmental education and whole school development and work with primary schools in the area. They help schools better their infrastructure and the overall teaching conditions, in order to improve education and empower learners to break the cycle of poverty they have been born into.
Conservation
The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is are deeply involved in the full spectrum of nature conservation with a philosophy to keep the reserve as near a pristine environment as possible by centring efforts on minimising the human footprint. Encompassing 60,000 hectares of wilderness the reserve also hosts a number of wildlife initiates, such as the Ground Hornbill Project, Rhino Protection and The Elephant Project.
