Overview
A safari home
Singita Castleton is a special place. The former home of Singita founder Luke Bailes’ grandfather, it’s full of nostalgia, blending the rustic charm of a country farmhouse with the luxuries you’d expect from a private Singita safari lodge.
The beautiful stone-walled homestead and six double en suite cottages are perfect for families and friends and accommodate up to 12 guests. Castleton features an extensive wine cellar, country-style kitchen and tennis court, as well as a fitness centre, yoga pavilion and massage treatment rooms.
Outdoors, covered verandas overlook tranquil lawns, a busy waterhole frequented by game and an expansive swimming pool. A boma with uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape allows for unforgettable fireside dinners under the stars.
And set in a 18,200-hectare private concession in the Sabi Sands Reserve that borders the Kruger, you’ll soon discover why it is renowned for its wildlife, spotting leopard, lion, cheetah, rhino, buffalo, elephant and wild dog on expertly guided game drives and walking safaris.

Community & Culture
All Singita lodges work in partnership with their local communities and aim to meet their community development goals of assisting people that live in and around the reserves to thrive both economically and socially.
Conservation
Singita’s aim is to be a caretaker of Africa’s most vulnerable flora and fauna and they have committed to a 100-year plan to preserve and protect African wilderness for future generations. Large scale projects in wildlife management, protection, ecosystem integrity, sustainable tourism and community development have helped to build a Singita’s model to balance tourism and conservation.
Footprint
Through their principled and forward-thinking approach, they have created a 100-year vision to conserve, preserve and protect the land in their care. They have partnered with Bioregional to implement One Planet Living’s values as well as working closely with Tesla and renewable energy supplier SolarAfrica to install an off-grid, renewable energy plant to help with their aim of becoming carbon neutral.
