Overview
Experience the Serengeti in style
Set in the heart of the Serengeti alongside the treelined Grumeti River, Faru Faru is an exceptional lodge in a private portion of the Serengeti, the 142,000 hectare Grumeti Reserve.
Its nine stone, canvas and thatched suites here have the feel of a traditional safari camp, but venture inside and you’ll discover contemporary interiors with large glass windows, mirrored room dividers and claw-foot baths.
Because there’s a waterhole so nearby, you don’t even have to leave the lodge to enjoy the wildlife as it comes to you. Between action-packed drives and walks, spend the day cooling off in the swimming pool overlooking the waterhole, find a spot on the elevated viewing decks or even watch the wildlife come close from the comfort of your room.

Game drives
There are game drives together with knowledgeable guides twice a day. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about and photograph the area’s big cats at your leisure, as well as marvel at the sight of massive herds of wildebeest crossing the plains. The vehicles are open-sided and there are power points so you can keep your devices charged, as well as fridges so that your drinks are always chilled.
-
Walking safaris
The most intimate way to experience the bush is on foot. Take things at a comfortable pace and allow your senses to discover the sights, smells and sounds of the wilderness. Walking safaris must be booked in advance.
-
Hot air ballooning
Fly silently over the plains while below the herds graze in the early morning light. These romantic trips usually start at around 6am and take between one and two hours. You’ll take off from a designated site in the nearby Seronera area. The flight is followed by a Champagne breakfast. Balloon safaris are at extra cost.
Community & Culture
While staying here, you have the opportunity to visit local communities and cultural and heritage sites, and the team at Singita Faru Faru ensures you’re able to do so in a respectful and appropriate manner. Boma dinners feature local dancers and choirs allowing you to experience the rich culture of the region. You’ll also find this culture reflected in the design and décor of Faru Faru. They also employ more than half of their staff from the neighbouring villages.
Conservation
Singita has partnered with the Grumeti Fund which manages anti-poaching teams, alien plant control, game census and reintroduction and research through the RISE environmental research facility.
Footprint
Singita Faru Faru uses solar PV energy. A significant number of single use plastics have already been eliminated and Singita is working to reduce non-recyclable plastic packaging even further. The short-term goal is to be able to offer guests the option of offsetting their carbon emissions during their stay. They are also a One Planet Community member.
