Together with professional guides and trackers, you’ll have the chance to get up close to some of the continent’s most fascinating animals. Catch a magical glimpse of elusive nocturnal creatures on a spot-lit night drive. Some of the animals to keep a lookout for include cheetahs, bearded wildebeests, bat eared foxes, black rhinos, Maasai giraffes, lions, elephants and rare colobus monkeys.
-
Community visits
Go on a visit to the Environmental Education Centre where you can meet some of the students and learn more about the programme which helps them understand the Serengeti ecosystem and why protected areas are important.
-
Wine tasting
Singita is arguably one of Africa’s most influential buyers of wine, and as a result their cellars boast some of the most prized wines the country has to offer. Your expert sommelier will be able to find just the right fit for your tastes. Through Singita Premier Wine Direct you can buy wines from their cellars and either take them home with you, or have them delivered when you return.
-
Anti poaching patrol
Take time out to visit the SGF Canine Unit where you can meet some of the handlers and learn about how the specialised anti-poaching unit is protecting the region. You’ll get to see the dogs find a piece of hidden wildlife contraband. If they are working on tracking training while you are there, you might get to see them track a person in the bush. A donation of $500 per person is required and a minimum of two and maximum of six people are allowed per demonstration.
-
Hot air ballooning
Wake at dawn for a hot air balloon ride over the treetops of the Serengeti. Gliding above the grasslands and acacia forests at tree top height for a unique game viewing perspective, or ascending to hundreds of meters to see the enormity of the reserve, it's a must for photographers and romantics.
Community & Culture
While staying here, you have the opportunity to visit local communities and cultural and heritage sites, and the team ensures you’re able to do so in a respectful and appropriate manner. Boma dinners feature local dancers and choirs allowing you to experience the rich culture of the region. They also employ more than half of their staff from the neighbouring villages.
Conservation
Singita has partnered with the Grumeti Fund which manages anti-poaching teams, alien plant control, game census and reintroduction and research through the RISE environmental research facility.
Footprint
A significant number of single use plastics have already been eliminated and Singita is working to reduce non-recyclable plastic packaging even further. The short term goal is to be able to offer guests the option of offsetting their carbon emissions during their stay. They are also a One Planet Community member.
