Tanda Tula is a real favourite of Niarra’s for its relaxed hosting and convivial atmosphere, as well as its immersive safari experience in the wild Timbavati Reserve.
Each of the nine hybrid canvas and glass suites are positioned overlooking the stunning Nhlaralumi riverbed with sweeping views of the bush. Outdoor covered decks and private plunge pools, ideal for dining and relaxing, with sunken bench seating – bringing you closer to nature.
The reserve comprises of individual landholders who together have formed a protected area of over 53,000 hectares of unspoilt natural wilderness adjoining the Kruger National Park in an open eco-system. The Timbavati is a highly professional and well managed reserve, that protects sustainable populations of many endangered species such as black and white rhinoceros, pangolins, southern ground hornbills and many others.

Game Drives
Head out on 4x4 ‘s in the private Timabavati concession with your guide and tracker. Six people to a vehicle, but private vehicles are available. Fabulous game viewing here, away from the crowds. Aswell as home to the Big Five, Tanda Tula is home to the rare white lion.

Walk through the 12000 hectares of the wilderness and undisturbed biodiversity with your guide - you will find many wonderful small creatures and beautiful plants.
Community & Culture
By staying at Tanda Tula, you support the Tanda Tula Education Foundation, which focus on an adult literacy program and a scholarship program. In 2012 when the literacy program was established, 12 out of 20 students were illiterate, now everyone can read and write.
The scholarship program currently provides full scholarships to six children of staff members to attend Southern Cross Schools (SCS), a private IEB school based in Hoedspruit. Here, children from kindergarten to Grade 12 are educated at the highest academic levels, coupled with a parallel education in conservation, sustainability, environment and community development. In addition, the program has two University students on full scholarships.

Tanda Tula passionately supports and contribute to various important projects in the Timbavati and Greater Kruger National Park with the support of you, their guests. By visiting regions like this you are investing in the future of Africa and ensuring that it will thrive. Tanda Tula is involved in Rhino Protection, Hornbill, Vulture and Leopard research.
