Overview
Sustainability with style
The Hotel Britomart is a stylish hotel in the centre of Britomart, a vibrant nine-block retail, hospitality and commercial precinct on Auckland’s downtown waterfront set amid refurbished brick and timber heritage warehouses.
There are 99 rooms enjoying views out to the harbour or city skyline, each snug with timber-lined walls and local artworks, along with five spacious suits on the top floor.
The restaurant, kingi, celebrates local, sustainably caught seafood, just one of the neighbourhood’s popular bars and eateries.

Footprint
With 5 Green Star Design and Build ratings from the NZ Green Building Council, The Hotel Britomart has sustainability built in from the ground up.
Almost 80% of construction waste was re-used or recycled and the hotel’s operations result in 50% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than required by building code. Materials in the hotel, such as bedsheets and towels, are made from organic cotton or recycled plastic, while bathroom products are locally made. There’s also been an effort to support artists and artisans with crafts, ceramics and paintings throughout the hotel celebrating local culture.
