Overview
Located high in the Atacama Desert, Tierra Atacama Lodge is surrounded by high-altitude lagoons and starkly beautiful moonscape valleys just outside of the pioneer town of San Pedro.
All 32 of the rooms offer stunning views of the Atacama Desert with the striking Andean Mountains as a backdrop. Your room includes air-conditioning, an outdoor shower and a terrace on which you can relax while drinking in your surroundings. Spend your days exploring the desert on horseback and hiking in the mountains, and your nights stargazing. Private guides can take you to less crowded spots.
Meals here are all about celebrating Chilean and Andean-inspired cuisine. The ingredients are all locally-sourced, and the menu features lamb, beef, fresh seafood and seasonal fruits and veg that are grown in the lodge’s own orchard and garden.
Tierra Atacama has committed to putting a strong emphasis on sustainability, and in line with this they make sure that all of their actions and facilities have a minimal impact on the landscape, wildlife and culture. They are the only fully solar powered hotel in South America, using photovoltaic panels and a lithium battery system, but no fossil fuels.

Talented Chilean architects cretead the hotel using quality materials and age-old construction techniques. The design is inspired by and pays tribute to the local scenery and cultures.
In Atacama, the sun offers us its natural energy captured by a solar farm that powers the lodges for most of the day. Water is highly valued and it is reused to irrigate our gardens, which themselves have been planted in recovered terrain.
