Overview
Relaxation meets adventure
Overlooking the Zambezi River a short distance from Victoria Falls and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Toka Leya is a great spot where you'll find time to relax and plenty of opportunities for adventure.
The camp has 12 safari-style tents, three of which are family tents. Each of the spacious tents in en suite and features a large deck with dramatic views as well as the opportunity to spot the local wildlife. With wooden walkways connecting the tents and communal areas, the camp’s impact on its natural surroundings is kept to a minimum.
When not out exploring on a range of activities, spend time in the main part of camp where you’ll find a yoga deck, dining are, bar and lounge as well as an infinity pool.

Guests may also visit the local village and school to learn about the people and culture of this part of Zambia. There are also respectful tours of a nearby village to get an insight into rural life in Zambia.
Community & Culture
A short drive from the camp is Sinde Village and together with Toka Leya, they host cultural visits with a per-head fee going to the community to fund development activities. This ensures that guests are offered an authentic experience which remains respectful to the people who live there, and the community also benefits from the tourism. Guest donations go towards schooling, nutrition and income-generating projects.
Conservation
Toka Leya has a successful tree-planting initiative running. Seedlings are grown in the nursery and as they grow they are watered by recycled water and fed using compost from the kitchen’s worm farm. Extra trees are donated to other areas within the park or NGOs like GreenPOP which plant them in other areas which need to be regenerated.
Footprint
Solar geysers are used to heat water, and a state-of-the-art water treatment plant redirects waste water into the nursery. Organic waste generated by the camp is sent to the worm farm which in turn produces compost for the nursery. These are just a few ways in which the camp employs environmentally-friendly technologies in its running.
