• Boating

  An extraordinary rainforest immersion awaits you on boat tours of Tortuguero National Park. Among the hundreds of bird, mammal, and reptile species that inhabit the area, you’ll likely see troops of spirited howler monkeys, capuchins northern jacana waterfowl and caimans.

• Turtles

  Tortuguero National Park takes its name from the thousands of green sea turtles who return to shore between July and October every year to lay eggs, hatching around two months later. Other species such as hawksbill, loggerhead and giant leatherback turtles can be seen earlier in the year.

• Kayaking

  Kayak through the majestic canals and rainforest for a more active exploration of the national park.

• Night walk

  Discover the magical twilight hours of the rainforest on a guided walk through Tortuga Lodge’s private 26-hectare nature reserve. A great chance to photograph reptiles, amphibians and more.

  Take in a birds' eye view of the majestic Caribbean lowlands on a two-hour intermediate-level hike up Cerro Tortuguero.
