Overview
Culture and wildlife for all the family
South Africa is an incredible country to explore with the family and this multi-generational adventure takes in three of its most beautiful spots.
Start in Cape Town where we can plan activities to suit all ages, such as paddle boarding along the Waterfront, beach walks with penguins and epic hikes.
A short way east, find your chic ocean-side villa surrounded by the wilderness of De Hoop Nature Reserve. With your own guide, enjoy incredible whale sightings and mountain biking trips across the dunes.
Next, head to the far north of the country for an action-packed safari in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, discovering the bush from another sumptuous private home. Full day game drives, kicking back beside the pool, indulging in the wine cellar while the kids are looked after – the time is yours to spend how you wish.

Days 1 — 4
Explore Cape Town

With experienced guides who specialize in keep all ages engaged and entertained, you’ll be shown around the city’s historic and cultural landmarks, ascend the iconic Table Mountain for unforgettable views, paddleboard along the Waterfront and snorkel in the sea with playful seals.
Days 4 — 7
Whale Coast vistas and wildlife spotting
De Hoop Nature Reserve is a scenic three-hour drive east of Cape Town, a spectacular protected area of fynbos, dunes, beaches and wetlands between the Potberg Mountains and the Indian Ocean. Between June and August, it offers some of the best land-based whale watching anywhere with southern right, Bryde’s and humpback whales finding sanctuary just offshore.
Based out of a stunning exclusive-use eco villa surrounded by coastal wilderness with a full team of staff and a private guide, spend your days on nature walks, exploring the reserve on game drives, whale watching, sand boarding and mountain biking.
Days 7 — 11
Private safari in Madikwe
In South Africa’s far north, on the border with Botswana, the 750 km² Madikwe Game Reserve is one of its lesser-known parks. Once degraded farmland, it has been transformed over three decades into an incredibly diverse reserve of woodlands, plains and grasslands that transition into the Kalahari sands. It is a shining example of community-based wildlife conservation, it is home to more than 60 mammal species including black and white rhinos, wild dogs, lions, cheetahs, elephants and more. It is also malaria-free, making Madikwe is a great safari area for families.
You’ll be staying in a luxurious private villa hidden in the bush while being well looked after by a welcoming team that includes your very own guide, tracker chef and host. With no set schedule, head out on exciting bush walks and game drives whenever you want, or relax around the pool with all the family.
