Days 1 — 2
Overnight in Arusha
Start your trip with a night in the green outskirts of Arusha staying at a welcoming lodge in the shadow of Kilimanjaro surrounded by coffee plantations. Relax after your flight or try your hand harvesting and roasting fresh beans.
Days 2 — 4
Lake Manyara
The safari begins at charming Chem Chem, a luxury lodge in its own concession safeguarding a vital natural corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks that hosts a great mix of species. Or you can choose a lodge on the rim of the nearby Ngorongoro Crater whose 19km wide caldera encircles lush grasses, forests, lakes and a great density of wildlife.
Depending on your lodge, you can choose to marvel at views from the crater’s rim or enjoy the exclusivity of a private concession nearby, both with a great mix of safari activities and chances to meet the local Maasai people.
Days 4 — 6
Safari on the Serengeti
Board a light aircraft flight to a vast private concession of the Serengeti. At nine times the size of Manhattan and limited to just a handful of fabulous luxury camps and lodges, the Singita Grumeti Reserves is the most exclusive way to experience the wonders of the Serengeti.
You’ll be greeted by an instantly recognizable vista. Savannah plains dotted with rocky kopje outcrops and umbrella-shaped acacia trees shading wandering elephants, giraffes, lazing lion prides, slinking cheetahs and so much more.
Wildlife abounds here year-round, but the plains are at their most spectacular when blanketed with the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra as they follow fresh grasses around the Serengeti on their annual migration with Grumeti River crossings being particularly dramatic. Look forward to a timeless safari experience of exciting game drives, guided walks, community visits, learning about anti-poaching initiatives, wine tastings and more.
Days 6 — 9
Unwind beside the Indian Ocean
Fly east over the coast to the Zanzibar Archipelago. For the next three nights, your home will be the private Mnemba Island and a chic banda (one of just 12) hidden among the forest and opening out onto the beach. Barefoot luxury at its best.
Do as much or as little as you fancy – kick back with a cocktail in hand, unwinding on the sand with the warm Indian Ocean lapping the shore, or snorkel and dive on vibrant coral reefs, kayak in search of dolphins, try windsurfing or lend a hand with conservation projects on the island.
